A few free moments

By: Swati Chauhan

A few free moments to watch the rain,

to sing with the cuckoo and dance in vain

A few free moments to greet the morning sun

to reflect on the day before its done.

A few free moments to smile and laugh

and remember the good times that have passed.

A few free moments to walk around

and converse with myself without a sound.

Few moments of love to hold your hand

and sketch dream castles on the wet sand.

Few moments of fun to chase butterflies

To open my arms and reach out to the sky.

A few free moments to sip my hot tea

and watch out the window as far as I can see.

A few free moments is all I ask

to be myself before I wear the mask!

    • Hey Tina,

Thanks for liking the blog. Its a very heartfelt poem for me. I wrote this one down on a piece of paper, sipping my tea and looking outside the winter snow:)
